Q. What’s your hair journey been like?
I am a BIPOC queer hairstylist in the PNW, and I have been doing hair for 12 years. My absolute favorite part of doing hair is getting to completely transform people, and not only their haircuts and colors.
Q. What’s your favorite part of doing hair?
When I spin my clients towards the mirror to reveal the final product of their appointment, I get to witness a spark, a beautiful light reignited in themselves that they didn't have at the beginning of their appointment. Those reactions bring me the greatest joy. It amazes that I can impact a person in that way.
Q. Tell us about the inspiration behind this look.
For this look, I gave my client bolder balayage highlights and cut her curls into a more complimentary shape without taking too much of her length.
Q: How did you use K18 to create this look?
I always start all of my chemical services with a very generous spray down with the professional molecular repair mist, I make sure the PRO mist hits every part of the hair and sits for the recommended 4 minutes. When it is time to rinse the color, I shampoo using K18's PEPTIDE PREP™ detox shampoo. Then at the bowl on damp hair, I apply the professional molecular repair mask and let that sit for 4 minutes.
Q: Tell us how your client’s hair looked and felt throughout the service
My client's hair felt amazing throughout the entire service because of K18. With regular shampoos, I feel like they make freshly lightened hair rough, tangled, and stripped. My passion is vivid color and curls, so I am really excited to do more vivid color looks on curly textures. The combination together is perfect!
